Our design process began with a comprehensive understanding of the client's vision and the specific needs of the HoReCa industry. This involved in-depth discussions about the client's desired functionalities and operational challenges. At this stage, we also conducted thorough competitor research to identify existing solutions and potential gaps in the market. Additionally, we performed a detailed audience analysis to understand the user personas within a restaurant setting, focusing on both staff roles and their interaction with the platform.
Following the research phase, we translated the gathered information into a series of user-centered wireframes. These wireframes ranged from the core order management dashboard to the analytics dashboard, focusing on intuitive navigation and efficient workflows. Through multiple iterations, we ensured the wireframes effectively addressed the client's requirements and facilitated a seamless user experience for restaurant staff.
With a clear understanding of user needs established through wireframing, we transitioned to the UI design phase. At this stage, we translated the UX into UI by carefully selecting a color scheme, typography, and creating custom icons. Our aim was to enhance user interaction while maintaining a professional and engaging look. We ensured the platform was both functional and aesthetically pleasing, focusing on intuitive and easy-to-navigate interface elements to improve the overall user experience.
Recognizing the diverse range of devices used within the HoReCa industry, we implemented a responsive and adaptive design approach. This ensures that Gingo's admin panel seamlessly adapts to various screen sizes, from desktops in back-office environments to tablets used for order management on the restaurant floor. This adaptability guarantees an optimal user experience for staff regardless of the device they choose to use.
To bridge the gap between design vision and real-world application, we developed a fully interactive and clickable prototype of the admin panel. This prototype allowed the client to experience the platform firsthand, simulating real-life workflows and user interactions. Based on the client's valuable feedback, we made necessary adjustments and optimizations until the final design perfectly met all his needs and addressed any identified usability concerns.
